Tailored Woodland Photography Workshops for All Levels
Whether you're a beginner with a new camera, a seasoned photographer refining composition, or an expert mastering woodland photography, my workshops are designed to suit your needs. As your local guide, I'll lead you through my favourite woodland spots, sharing insights I've gained from years of exploring these areas.
Bring a friend for a focused, hands-on experience—limited to two participants for personalized learning. Essential gear: camera with aperture priority/manual mode, sturdy tripod, and proper footwear. I can loan you a tripod if needed. Dress for muddy terrain and weather; rain often creates the best conditions!
Current Locations: Ashridge Forest, Broxbourne Woods NNR, Burnham Beeches, Panshanger Park, Epping Forest, Hainault Forest, Sharpenhoe Clappers, and Northaw Great Wood.
By booking a half-day 1-2-1 workshop, you'll contribute to planting two native British trees, helping preserve the natural beauty we capture together.
Frequently Asked Questions
What skill level is required for the workshop?
The workshops are tailored to all levels, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer.
What equipment do I need to bring?
A camera with aperture/manual mode, a tripod, appropriate footwear and clothing that will keep you warm and/or dry in the event of rain or snow. A tripod can be provided if needed – I’ll provide a recommended list of equipment once you’ve made your booking.
What happens if it rains?
The workshop will continue in the rain, as this will often present great conditions for woodland photography. However, if there are high winds (i.e. a named storm), we will have to reschedule the workshop for another date for safety reasons as branches can drop without warning.
Is transportation provided to the workshop locations?
If you are arriving by train, I can pick you up from the nearest station on the way to the location and provide all travel during the workshop if we need to change location. Do ensure that your train arrives in time for us to be on location 45 minutes before sunrise.
Can I reschedule if something comes up?
I schedule workshops around my commercial photography work and have limited availability each month. However, I understand that unforeseen events happen. If you need to reschedule, please provide as much notice as possible, preferably by phone. Please note that no-shows and cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop date are non-refundable.
